Quick Catch Up

Its Been a while since we last checked in! We have had a busy start to 2014……………………. We are finding that the word has spread across Cheshire and we are having customers travelling to our showroom from all over. Areas such as Northwich, Nantwich, Congleton and Sandbach,  are all located nearby. Where we are based is convenient and easy to travel from Shropshire, North Wales, Cheshire, the Wirral including Merseyside. We do however supply tiles to customers throughout the Uk, with the help of the internet our customer base has increased. We realise that the internet has made the market much more competitive, and we are happy to compete!

Everything Vintage

EVERYTHING VINTAGE!!!!! Well it would seem that we are all becoming Vintage Mad. The trend to “make do and mend”, has never been more popular. I must admit I Love the Vintage, Shabby, Frenchie Look in my own home. So when I saw the lovely new Epoque Tiles, we thought that they would sell very well. We were right, they are selling very well. The tile gives a lovely Moroccan look and teamed with a beautiful silvery grey brick wall tile is a beautiful idea for a bathroom (see photo!) The range is called ODYSSEY and is made by a company called ORGINAL STYLE. This company makes beautiful tiles based on tiles from the past. They also do a range based on Victorian Tiles; their tiles are copies of original floors from Victorian Houses. The tiles can be used for hallways, porches and even patios. Be back Soon…………….

WOOD_KER Porcelain Flooring

We have been busy with a high customer demand for our WOOD_KER Porcelain flooring. This product is truly amazing as it gives such a true look of wood flooring but is made out of porcelain. There are many reasons why porcelain is preferable to wood. For example in a kitchen or a bathroom were water could be an issue, obviously with a Porcelain this is not a problem. Wood also can tend to bleach with sunlight again this will not happen with the WOOD_KER products. They are so easy to keep clean, without any need for sealing and are completely hygienic. The added plus is that they are amazing conductors for your “warmup” Under Floor Heating, if you really want to push the boat out!! The WOOD_KER range of porcelain wood comes in four shades from Walnut to Grey (which looks like driftwood). We do have other ranges of porcelain wood one called SELECT. This range gives the look of a more distressed look. Probably a Shabby Chic look! It has the same benefits as the WOOD_KERR and comes in four shades Moka, Kaki, Ash and Light. In my humble opinion I just love the SELECT LIGHT. The reason being that I just love everything white and with this product you do not need to worry about staining etc………..Bliss!!! Right will be back soon, with some news on our new delivery of French Furniture. Also I cannot go, without saying that we are awaiting some new displays of the most amazing Stone. Although porcelain is selling very well as it has great practical benefits; We still love stone, when you think about how old the stone is it is actually incredible to have it in your home. We will upload some photographs shortly.

Welcome to our new Blog

Firstly Thank you for taking your time to visit our website, we hope that you will come and visit us soon. I will start by telling you just a little about ourselves (Mark and Christine Rees) and our company Clay and Rock. It all started in 1989 when we (Mark and Christine Rees) started our first company which was called Ceramic Collections Ltd, this was situated in Kendal, Cumbria. We have many happy memories of this our first business; we met many good friends through the business and supplied many lovely people including Sandy Lyle the golfer! (That was a surprise when he walked through the door, Mark is a very keen golfer !) After twelve years of successful trading we decided to sell Ceramic Collections to a member of staff. After taking a year off Mark wanted a new challenge, we were fortunate to come across some ideal Premises located just off the A6 at Garstang near Preston. Our new showroom was called Rockform. Again Mark managed to create another successful business which is now owned by an ex-employee and dear friend Tony. It was now a mission to seek out our final location and premises; we had to get it right as this one is for long term, until we retire!…………. We spotted Long Barn on the Chester Road near Tattenhall, we were totally stunned by the lovely building and it is now our showroom, Clay and Rock. We opened the doors in December 2010. Mark is the front man of Clay and Rock, he is a tile geek and literally loves tiles, he has been in the tile business for thirty years and has a wealth of experience in the industry. I am Christine his other half and I am now helping him at Clay and Rock, we are a small but friendly team here at Clay and Rock. We hope that our customers feel valued and looked after, it is the service that we give to all our customers which we believe is not always available from a larger company. As you enter Clay and Rock’s stunning showroom, you will see by the high quality displays that this is not just a tile showroom but a gallery showing some of the most beautiful tiles you have ever seen. At Clay and Rock we consider ourselves to be very fortunate to be located in such a lovely area. We have a large car parking area and are easily found , just off the A41 (Chester). We have a great customer radius and have customers which travel to us from North Wales, Wirral, Shropshire and of course the Cheshire area. We consider ourselves to be one of the most competitively priced retailers and can offer tiles and stone to suit most budgets. We import from Italy and Spain and stock a large percentage of the tiles sold in the showroom. Another branch of our business is wood flooring; we have a great selection of both engineered and solid wood. Again we can cater for varying needs and budgets. We are confident that if you were to visit our showroom, you would be inspired by our beautiful displays. We realise that it is often a difficult decision to make and by visiting our showroom you will see room sets of displays, not the usual boards of tiles, which can be hard to visualise on a larger scale. I am going to update our blog on a weekly basis with all the news etc. Thank you for reading! And come back soon!
